Though Mumbai air quality was recorded the cleanest post Diwali celebration if compared from past five years data, with Air Quality Index (AQI) of 96 which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ group and has improved further on the consecutive days.

 

Yet, it’s a fact there is a rise in air pollution with an increased concentration level of superfine particulate matter PM10 and PM2 post-Diwali, these can have an adverse impact on your hairs if proper care is not taken.

CLEANING THE ACCUMULATED DUST FROM HAIR POST-DIWALI:

 

To get rid of the superfine particulate from your scalp shampoo your hairs properly, towel dry them and apply a good conditioner, this will reduce the itching on your scalp, nourish your scalp and soften your hairs.

 

AVOID STYLING TOOLS:

 

Your hairs are already in stress with all the increased environmental temperature and air pollution, better not to increase the stress level further by using any hair styling tool, as styling tools transfer a lot of heat that will damage your scalp further, better avoid hair styling tools post Diwali for at least 10 to 15 days.

 

MASSAGE YOU SCALP:

 

Massaging your scalp improves blood circulation, but keep in mind never massage your scalp post-Diwali before shampooing your hairs properly a day before you plan your scalp massage, as oil massage without washing your hairs can lead to further scalp problems, such as dandruff, itching and others issues. Best recommended is Mustard oil, but you can use any oil that suits your scalp, after oiling wash off the oil after an hour or two for best results.

 

EXTRA NOURISHMENT:

 

Once you are done with the oil massage to provide extra nourishment, you can also use a homemade pack, a mixture of vinegar, honey with an egg or you can also use banana, honey, egg, curd and milk mixture on you hairs only and not on the scalp. Let the pack on for 40 to 50 minutes then wash it off with a mild shampoo and let your hair air-dry naturally after the wash.
